In a traditional sense, this is not a method book; it is a hybrid teaching tool for older beginners that contains pedagogically appropriate piano pieces, technical exercises, and supplementary activities.Most of the repertoire in this book is composed using our innovative Pop Staff. The Pop Staff is a modified bass staff that accompanies a treble staff. Chord symbols placed on the Pop Staff enable students to play simple left-hand pop chords, creating significantly more rewarding music than repertoire found in traditional older beginner books.While this resource is not a typical method book, it is not a chording method book either. Older beginners WILL learn to read bass notes in the C 5-finger scale too. Through a carefully structured approach, students begin by reading notes in the right-hand C 5-finger scale only, accompanied by simple pop chords in the left hand.
