Atopica is used to treat itching and skin lesions caused by atopic dermatitis, inflammatory bowel disease and other dermatological conditions. Atopica is safe long for long term treatment with out some of the side effects associated with steroids.

For use:
Dogs (at least 6 months of age and weighing at least 4 lbs)
Active ingredient(s):
cyclosporine

Cautions:
Atopica is not for use in breeding , pregnant or lactating dogs. Do not use Atopica if your pet has a history of cancer. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication or supplements you are giving to your pet. The following drugs can potentially interact with cyclosporine: gentamicin, amphotericin B, ketoconazole, erythromycin, cimetidine, phenobarbital, and phenytoin. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Side effects:
Side effects may include loss of appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. Your pet may also experience liver and kidney problems. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
